Thanks to the extreme performance of our LiHDX batteries, you can handle difficult tasks easier and more quickly – from grinding to drilling and sawing.
LiHDX
With our new 18 Volt LiHDX battery packs, we are bringing power to the ultimate level.
We understand that intense work demands maximum power for perfect results.
We make it possible by using revolutionary tabless technology.
The result: even better performance, longer runtimes, and faster
charging times than with our established LiHD battery.
Of course, all of this is part of the multi-brand CAS battery system, with over 40 high-performing manufacturers.
The ultimate lightweight
900 watts, and a weight of just 580 grams, means easier work no matter your trade. Especially in difficult to reach work areas or when working over head, the narrow flat pack shows its strength over common two-row battery packs. The new LiHDX 4.0 Ah battery pack with tabless technology is developed for you and for maximum freedom.

The ultimate performer for heavy-duty work
With 1,800 watts and extremely long battery runtimes, you can keep working longer and finish faster. The new battery pack with tabless technology is developed for you and for the toughest applications.
Power: 1,800 watts / Ah: 8.0 / weight: 900 g / Voltage: 18 V
The 16A quick charger sprints to the finish, charging an 18 volt LiHDX 8.0 battery pack in around 30 minutes – so you don't have to wait to get started. It also works worldwide: the ASC 290 charger is ideal for use around the globe thanks to its mains cable with plug connection that can be easily exchanged with different connector types. In addition, it works with all classes and charges anything at 110 V or 240 V, from a 20 W USB-C to the 12 V to 36 V battery pack.
With the ASC 290 from Metabo, however, you enjoy not only flexibility but compatibility as well: both batteries and chargers can be combined in any configuration – no matter whether they are LiPOWER, LiHD, or LiHDX.
In the past, the anodes and cathodes inside lithium-ion battery cells were connected to the external plus and minus poles of a battery cell via connecting bands, also known as "tabs". During challenging applications, these "tabs" act as a bottleneck, constricting the flow of current. This increases the internal resistance of the battery cell, generating heat during high or long-term power output. To protect the battery against overheating, the system regulates the output power.
In 18 volt LiHDX battery packs, the internal configuration of the tabless cells has been changed so that the anode and cathode are completely connected to the plus and minus poles. There are no "tabs" to act as bottlenecks, and internal resistance in the cells is significantly lower. With this design, we release ultimate power for users, meaning better performance, significantly longer runtimes in challenging applications, and shorter charging processes.
With new LiHDX technology for heavy duty work, we are setting new standards in terms of
performance, run times and charging times.
