Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH)

Compliance with laws and provisions is a matter of course to us as a renowned German brand manufacturer. Within the sense of REACH, we are a “downstream” user. We therefore supply "preparation" and "products".

In concrete terms this means:

  • According to article 33 of regulation (EC) no. 1907/2006 (REACH), distribution companies of products (machines, accessories, as well as components and spare parts) that contain one or several so-called substances of very high concern (SVHC) in a concentration exceeding 0.1% weight by weight, are subject to particular information requirements. Substances identified as of very high concern are included into the so-called candidate list by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
  • Obviously, we comply with our obligation to inform according to article 33:
Products that contain one or several SVHC are recorded in the SCIP database.
  • According to the information available from our suppliers, we assume that the registration of substances listed in annex 14 has been carried out in due time.
  • According to our current knowledge, none of our items contains substance fractions of the substances listed in annex 17, which would prohibit placing these items on the market.
  • Safety instructions can be found in the Metabo service portal.

According to available information, almost all Metabo products contain components, in which lead (CAS no. 7439-92-1) as alloy element, e.g. in steel or copper, in concentrations exceeding 0.1% weight in weight is contained. The use of this substance conforms with the applicable derogations. If used as intended, the products do not pose any hazard to the health or environment. Safety instructions are not required.

  • Consumers are required to return these to a suitable public collection point, a Metabo specialist dealer or at the Metabo service free of charge.
  • If you use a communal collection point to dispose of your devices, please remove the battery pack in cordless devices and dispose of it separately and in an environmentally-friendly way using a suitable collection system.
  • Old devices contain important raw materials that can be recycled in keeping with recycle management.

Safety recommendations for the transport and handling of Lithium-ion battery packs

Due to their very high energy density, lithium-ion battery packs are particularly suited for mobile applications. Many safety mechanisms are already integrated in the system and guarantee a safe product whilst ensuring safe working. The high energy content also requires additional measures and rules for damage prevention when handling and transporting the battery packs.
